The Fresno Nightcrawlers
A security camera in California recorded two white figures that seemed to be just a pair of legs, walking across a garden at night.
What was reported
In 2007, a man in Fresno, California, released footage from a security camera showing two small, white figures that seemed to consist of nothing but long legs, gliding across his front garden at night. In 2011, a similar clip was said to have been filmed in Yosemite National Park.
The 'nightcrawlers' became an internet sensation, and some linked them to Native American stories of small beings.
Explanations offered
Sceptics suggest the figures were created with puppets, people wearing white trousers filmed in a certain way, or editing. The people involved have never fully explained the footage, and many think it was a clever hoax.
