The Broad Haven School Sighting
One lunchtime in 1977, a group of Welsh schoolchildren said they saw a silver craft land in a field behind their school.
What was reported
On 4 February 1977, a group of children at Broad Haven Primary School in Pembrokeshire said they saw a large, silver, cigar-shaped object in a field near the playground. Some said they saw a figure in a silver suit beside it.
The headmaster separated the children and had them draw what they saw. Their drawings were strikingly similar. Over the following months, many adults in the area also reported lights and figures.
Explanations offered
Sceptics suggested the children saw an ordinary vehicle, such as a sewage tanker truck parked in the field, or an aircraft from a nearby air base. Many of the witnesses, now adults, still say they saw something they can't explain.
