The drive up the ghat takes twenty minutes. That night it took two hours, and we never stopped.
Four people, one car. We left the bottom at half past eight and reached the top at half past ten. All four phones agreed, and the fuel needle had barely moved.
Nobody remembers anything strange on the way. Only one thing, which each of us said separately: there was one bend that kept coming back.
