Two eyes lit up in the headlights. Six feet off the ground.
We were crawling along the ghat road. Between the trees were two green eyes, set far apart, as if the head were very wide.
We stopped the car. The eyes blinked once, then rose. Ten feet. Twelve. Then they went out. Nothing fell from the trees, no branch broke.
