A white ball of light hung over the valley, as if it was trying to work out who we were.
It was a winter evening and the valley was silent. Above the hill a light came on, like a small sun, and stayed hanging in the air.
We flashed a torch. The light blinked once. We flashed twice. It blinked twice. We didn't try a third time.
