A village above Chamba

The dogs had stopped barking, and that was the strangest part. I got up for water and someone was standing at the courtyard door. The head was above the frame, the shoulders stooped.

It never tried to come in. It just stood there, as if waiting to be invited. My brother woke up and saw it too. In the morning there were no marks in the dirt outside the door.
