The Ängelholm Encounter
A Swedish man said that in 1946 he met small beings beside a landed craft in a forest clearing, and that they taught him about healing plants.
What was reported
Gösta Carlsson, a businessman from Ängelholm in southern Sweden, said that on the night of 18 May 1946 he was walking in the Kronoskogen forest when he came upon a disc-shaped craft in a clearing and several small figures in tight suits. He said one of them warned him away.
He kept the story to himself for decades. In the 1970s, after he had built a successful company making health products from pollen, he said the beings had given him the knowledge behind it. A monument with a model craft stands in the forest today.
Explanations offered
No other witnesses have been found, and his account appeared only 25 years later. Sceptics note that it grew in detail over time, and that it was told by a businessman who benefited from the publicity. Others say he was sincere.
